Introduction

New products and chemcials are realeased into the world every day. The safety regulation lags behind the commercial interests. Sometimes, like with the ubiquitous Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR), decades behind. There are obvious and concerning reasons for this. If the dangers of EMR were taken seriously, the entire power and telecommunications networks would have to be replaced.

Luckily for us, some good people at organisations like the Institute of Building Biology (IBB) are training others to reassess what we allow into our environment. Based on their own measurements, the IBB have produced guidelines for the most stringent limits on indoor pollutants. With natural background levels or 0 being the target levels for various toxins, we endeavour to make homes and workplaces healthier.
